Slightly stunted interface but probably the most analogue sounding VA ive laid hands on. Very nice indeed. Anyone wanting to hear some soundclips let me know...

:O)JD73https://www.blogger.com/profile/01229976638969209402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-842547070230622193.post-47792585298393561512008-10-20T03:43:00.000-07:002008-10-20T03:43:00.000-07:00Well, ive ordered my new macbook pro but this upda...Well, ive ordered my new macbook pro but this update was a major blow for users of firewire as the new macbooks no longer have a firewire port. I can see apples thinking in dropping the ports (ie make the pro users by the pro named laptop) but the computers are so similar and if it was done to cut costs then why hasnt this been passed on to the customers?? The new macbooks arent any cheaper for it!! Thankfully the pro still has firewire 800 that is backwards compatible with firewire 400 devices...im now thinking about getting an interface that uses the express card slot rather than firewire as these moves by apple put the future of firewire in some doubt in my head! What do you think about this move?JD73https://www.blogger.com/profile/01229976638969209402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-842547070230622193.post-11695015263153169802008-10-20T03:37:00.000-07:002008-10-20T03:37:00.000-07:00Totally agree with you man...the industry is evolv...Totally agree with you man...the industry is evolving but i think its us guys that really have the power to move it forward. The old business model of majors>artist/slaves no longer works;we all know that. SO..i believe self releasing or using services such as tunecore, or ithinkmusic are great alternatives where we can really run our own careers rather than have them managed away from us by managers or labels who just see the artist as a faceless entity. Everything is there for the taking. I wouldnt give up making music for anything and i have lots of plans for releasing my own music in my own way in the future. Lets keep this discussion going as there's lots to talk about for a long time and we can all really make a big difference with some positive forward thinking...JD73https://www.blogger.com/profile/01229976638969209402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-842547070230622193.post-69281893494014878712008-10-20T03:32:00.000-07:002008-10-20T03:32:00.000-07:00Oh yeah and you will be able to do midi out zones ...Oh yeah and you will be able to do midi out zones on the Mark 7 and have the Phatty controlled using the top few octaves...very nice indeed!!JD73https://www.blogger.com/profile/01229976638969209402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-842547070230622193.post-50946420904916262082008-10-20T03:30:00.000-07:002008-10-20T03:30:00.000-07:00Cheers for replying guys! Well, i spoke with Arbiter about the Mark 7 a month or so ago and it looked likely i may get a mark 7 for my London Jazz festival gig on 21st November, so i need to get back in touch with them regarding that but as ive not heard anything yet, i presume its not going to happen. Its taking a long time, but i do believe these will come out and id rather they get them right than put out a lemon! As soon as i hear anything ill let you know!! Also im pencilled in to review the mk7 for Future Music Magazine as well so will let you know about that as well!

Cheers,

DanJD73https://www.blogger.com/profile/01229976638969209402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-842547070230622193.post-48622195985007850092008-10-06T07:48:00.000-07:002008-10-06T07:48:00.000-07:00Any news on the Mark 7 yet? To be honest I would be rather surprised to see the first production models shipped anytime soon...they haven't updated their website in ages, and surely theyd issue some kind of press release to announce production. Please prove me wrong ;-)

Maxphunkeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02018883775717751310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-842547070230622193.post-88602659581820278022008-10-02T07:44:00.000-07:002008-10-02T07:44:00.000-07:00Very exciting.I wasn't sure myself. Imagine a Rhodes with a consistent tone and sustain throughout the keyboard. No duff notes or those tine kissing dampers. Pure even, consistent Rhodes tone. I can't fooking wait.

And MIDI!! MIDI out into my Little Phatty. I wonder if you can split it? Perfect sync'd Rhodes & Moog lines. NOW I can finally sound like Jeff Lorber :)Jackanoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05670479587223519278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-842547070230622193.post-81622900847458543492008-10-02T07:40:00.000-07:002008-10-02T07:40:00.000-07:00Yes it's a crying shame. I'm like, I haven't worked my arse off for 9 years so you can get me to do shit for free.

Records don't sell how they used to, but people still have money. People still buy things. I think the industry just needs to reinvent itself (which is slowly is).

Yea it's frustrating. I'm full time music (AND on the dole...). I wouldn't change it for the world right now. When my car finally dies perhaps I'll re think it.

The money is there, it's just figuring out how to make music 'valuable' again.Jackanoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05670479587223519278noreply@blogger.com
